Nightmare with steam tonight :(

No idea whats going on, downloaded loads from steam without a hitch but tonight its just not playing ball.

It downloads happily for a bit and then totally kills my internet connection and I am forced to restart my router to get internet access back. Happened 3 times so far this evening on this download.

I guess something has changed since I last downloaded (March) but not sure whether its me or steam. Ah well...will just have to keep grabbing chunks of the game in 10 minute lumps.

EDIT : Having said that, its just downloaded the remaining 6gigs perfectly smoothly and fine in 8 minutes. So maybe something was just having a freaky few moments

6 gigs in 8 minutes? That's around a 100MB/s connection. I'm jealous.

Or maybe it was misreporting the download remaining, while you were having problems.

could have been misreporting, I have a 50mb connection, but I took the 8 mins from the counter rather than 8 mins on the clock.
