US, April 2, 2007 - SEGA of America and Europe today jointly announced NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for Nintendo's Wii console. The game is the official sequel to the cult hit SEGA Saturn game in which players explored dream worlds and controlled a jester with the ability to fly. Journey of Dreams seems to follow the same basic premise.

Couldnt see this posted, but im delighted - nights was fantastic, i can only imagine how good it will be with the wii controller, all thoughts of selling my wii have evaporated after reading that.

ign linky

(nights didnt return any hits on the search, apologies if its a repost).

I never played the first but Nights appear on a lot of people’s top 10 games for the Saturn so I’m hoping this game will be good

Only problem I see is it’s getting made by the same people who made Shadow the Hedgehog

I've got high expectations of this game, hope Sega dont let me down knowing whats at stake though I reckon sega are gonna put some hard work into this project :)

Noticed that NiGHTS release date has been pushed to Q1 08, was looking forward to getting this for Christmas, and was hoping there was a Christmas time based feature like Christmas NiGHTS.

You never know, maybe we will get a treat from Sega before the official release, maybe thats why its been put back? :)

Ive still got my xmas nights disk, unfortunately my saturn is goosed, Games did a preview on it lsat month and they said the feel of it felt brilliant, and is looking great.

Alrighty, this has been reviewed by IGN and gets a disapointing score :(

The control is too stiff, odd design choices will have players repeating full levels rather than incorporating a simple checkpoint system which would have saved both progress and sanity alike, and there's a huge amount of emphasis put on non-Nights gameplay, having players control the human children in very unrewarding sections, and incorporating sloppy alternate gameplay rather than just focusing on what made the original so captivating in the first place. Nights still has its moments, as the style is there, the entire story is told with full VO (and some decent, if not a bit over-the-top voice acting throughout), and the boss battles specifically are pretty captivating. In the end it's simply a bit too rough all around, too short (less than three hours with each child will see the end), and strays from what made Nights so entertaining in the first place; the simple joy of flight.

6.5 - pretty disapointed but ill try it out myself.

Damn it. Had high hopes for this. Looked lovely from the screenies and videos and offered a little something new.

Might give it a whirl despite the low score.
