Watched the film last night and gotta say I have mixed feelings about it. The storyline was good , there were some great special effects and despite the translation the film didn't lose much of it's impact. But I thought the way in as filmed wasn't that clever, it was a lot like the matrix with a lot of stop/start, slow motion stuff in it and for me this detracted a lot from the film.

Anyone else seen it, and if so what were your views on it?

:EDIT: I'm also reading the book and it's very good, a little different from the film and it explains things a lot clearer and is well written

To be honest I thought the film was average at best. I wanted my £3.75 rental back at the end of it.

hi,
ive mixed feelings on this aswell... seemed really good at the start then lost its way half way through.just seemed a bit disjointed to me

apparently night watch2 is a lot better..

I was utterly disapointed by it after it being hyped as the "Russian Martix". It was not an enjoyable watch, I feel i must see the sequal now because I was left feeling cheated after this film ended.

I enjoyed it although I had just watched Aeon Flux... now I did want to sue for my rental money and life for that dirge of a movie.

After all the online hype it received I was fairly disappointed by this. Nothing specific that I didn’t like it just wasn’t particularly entertaining.

Amazingly good movie. High production values, great acting and a really engrossing universe. Can't wait to see Day Watch.

I can't see why people are slating this so much at all.

Must add another "good" vote.
Loved the film, really enjoyed it.
I can't see how anybody was disapointed with the ending especially as it was billed as "Part one of a horror trilogy" - which would give the impression there would be a part two and three.

Was extremely well acted, I think the casting was perfect - No I don't know any of the actors but everyone of them just seemed perfect for their role.
It had good fight scenes, a good story....
Really looking forward to Day Watch (yer I know it was released in Russia on the 1-1-06 and I can get it on DVD, I however want the big screen experience).

To top it all I took my fiancee to see Nightwatch.
Towards the end she seemed to have lost a little interest.
When we got back in the car I said to her "You weren't really impressed with that were you?"
Her reply - "What gives you that idea? It was excellent, when is the next one out?"
