Hey, at my place of work we use a Nikkon D90 for product photograhy.

We've been using it for about a year interchanging between the standard lens and a Nikkor 60 Marco.

Most of the time it's used for 100 or so photos at a time then goes untouched for a few weeks between shoots.

Yesterday I set up a shoot and took a few photos all ok as normal (showed up in the preview LCD once taken just fine). The standard lens was being awkward and didn't want to take pictures when focussed (using AF). I switched off AF all over to manual (including VR) and tried to take another picutre -shutter goes, flash goes, all good? Nope, the preview LCD showed the last photo in the previous folder taken (from a few weeks back).

I check on my SD on the PC, no new pictures taken AS OF switching off the AF/VR. No new picture on the SD card taken despite the camera 'going through the picture taking process - shutter and flash ect.

Try the other lens (Macro) same problem, try wiping the SD card same problem, only now, instead of previewing an old photo just after taking one it now says no photos in the preview LCD.

Tried also tethering with USB and taking a photo and nothing shows up.

Any ideas? can't really afford a new DSLR for work :/

EDIT: This is the problem I was avoiding by switching to manual -

The SD card hasn't been put into "locked/protect" mode - using the little slider?

Tried two different SD cards and both of them formatted (and checked locking)

Charged it up, no difference.

Reset the camera to Factory spec also, no difference.

That's what I wanted to say or else get some expert around as much experimenting can cause the precious thing damaged.
