I have a budget of £200 - £250 for a camera for my parents for xmas.
Can anyone give opinions on the Nikon 1 series? The J2 is available for £200 and it looks good for that price.

I am after a camera that is reasonably easy to use but also has the options if they want to learn and use manual controls, other lenses etc. Image quality and shutter speed must be good

Panasonic dmc tz40 - £216
Sony dsc hx50 - £250
