looking for a nice wide angle and have decided on either of these. wondering which would be the better choice and if any owners can offer their experiences. ive heard the sigma can be a bit hit and miss depending on which one you get.

Isn't the 10.5 a fisheye?

I have the Sigma and its really wide but, my one can be soft at the edges depending on the focal length/ aperature. I am scared to return it in case the one I get back is worse

How about the Nikon 12-24, it is a lot more expensive but I havent read too many bad things about it (apart from price)

the 10-22 Sigma i had was shocking, soft as hell at the edges, totally unusable. I know you can't use the Canon 10-22 which is 10x better but does the Tokina 12-24 come in Nikon fit? If so that would be worth trying

yes the tokina does come in nikon fit and is a shade under 300 squid. i think ill go for that as have decided against the fisheye effect, the sigmas seem too hit and miss, or are they better at 12-24?

Is this like the 50th post about these lenses? Yes it has some edge softness, yes the Tokina 12-24 is technically better as is the Canon 10-22, but it gets great results.
