I'm new to this DSLR world, mainly just use my phone for taking pics and vids (Galaxy S2, Now an S3).

With the news of this good offer I'd like to get my first DSLR.

Which one should I go for? and what questions should I be asking?

From amazon - it would make the D5100 £355 after cashback. Is that not a good deal?

edit - I should state that's with 18-55mm VR Lens Kit

The D5100 seems like a sound choice for the outlay.

A question I do have is should I buy the body only? I was told by a collegue at work that the lenses the come with the camera is pretty poor and it's better to buy your own lense/glass.

With that in mind can anyone reccomend a pukka 18-55mm lense to go with the D5100?
Budget? Say £200?
