Nikon Lens packaging sealed or not sealed?

Bought a 55-300mm Lens which arrived today and none of the packaging was sealed with tape, including the white packet the Lens itself was in, but I can't remember whether they actually come sealed like that or did I get a used item? As I read one or two reviews from the shop I bought from that got used items.

Don't think my 35mm was taped up

Also bought a 55-300, wasn't sealed either.
