Nildram 8meg

Well my free regrade to 8meg has just been uncapped and i'm getting a steady 600KB/s. Hopefully it will go up some over the rest of the 10 day period but for now I'm pretty chuffed! The double upload speed comes in handy with Skype etc too.

How long did it take? My Nildram line is still at 2meg

You'd think Nildram would prioritise it the order that customers signed up. I signed up to Nildram in 2001 :/

my nildram is still 2mb, But im only 2 days into being sync'd at 8mb so hopefully soon

Well, I ordered it on the 1st of this month so about 15 days from initial regrade order to it actually working. After reading up a lot about it, it's best to just keep using the internet exactly as you are. Don't try any of the "tricks" like reconnecting your modem 6 times in quick succession etc. You may get it earlier by doing this but you'll end up with worse speeds overall.

Where did you request the regrade? I thought everyone was being upgraded to 8meg automatically? :confused:

Interesting to hear your upload doubled too, that is nice. Ordered regrade on the 12th and apparently sync period should start on the 23rd according to order tracking.

Not sure what the deal is now, but I was keeping my eye on them switching to 8 meg. When they announced they were I had to regrade to get it. You will probably be automatically upgraded at some point but I wouldn't think it would happen anytime soon.

Took around 5 days after being sync'd at 8 meg speeds until my 2 meg cap was finally uncapped.

Just been looking on the Nilly website. Seems you have to "reorder your current product" to prompt the 8meg regrade to occur. Sigh :rolleyes:

Pity they didn't send a letter out explaining what has to be done! Oh well, ordered it now! :cool:

Hope my crappy Conexant modem can handle 8meg!

Im on nilly, but mines lines synched at 6.75mb and im only getting 4mb download speeds. Guess im going to have to wait the full 10 ten days before my line gets up to full speed

Download speeds have been hit and miss the past 4 days, with it dropping as low as 64k and peaking at 4mb.

sync'd at 8mb, 3 days just up; getting around 5000kbps atm (about 650k/sec)
and 377kbps up (about 47k/sec)
