Hello

I have a small problem with nilly.

My router reports me as synced with the exchange at 1.4mbps which it has always done. Which gets me speeds of 1mb. Now its been like this for years, until 2 months ago when i was still synced at 1mb but only getting speeds of 169k with a download of about 30k. Now i have phoned nilly and they sent two engineers out and found nothing wrong with anything in my house. I have brought two draytek routers home with me from work and tested the connection and get the same problem.

Anyone seen a problem like this? I still think its down to nildrams side of the network, since they are not throttling connections.

There has been the odd time where it went back to 1mb speeds.

try changing the ADSL cable, I had a problem where every now and then my router would sync @ 160kbs Downstream from 8mb, thus forcing me to wait 3 days for the nice speeds again.

I thought my router was at fault, got a draytek from work still had the same problem, changed the ADSL cable (the one from the filter to your router) and bobs your uncle sync'd up at a much faster rate, better SNR and ATT..just had to wait 3 days again for the BRAS to update.

I'm having the exact same problem and they said theres nothing wrong, seems odd how I never had any problems with Zen. I'll be moving ISP shortly.

Yeah its crap isn't it, i think its down to their network to be honest. Both engineers said my line is fine for 1mb and found no faults in my line that would causes problems. Stats are about 57/12 db, which the engineer said where fine, as he puts 1mb in ones with 57/8, but they might get the odd disconnect.

Well i am sure none of you care, but i have regarded my account back to 1mb fix rate to see how that goes. Should be working on the 12/12/2006.

Will post back and let you know how it goes, hopefully it will help some people with the same issue.

Well it says normal service for 1mb is between 200-1000 kbps.

I cant understand it, it was fine for years and since i got MAX in march it was fine as well.

Hopefully this fixed line will sort it, as i wont be on MAX any more.
