Hello All

Is anyone having issue with the speed of their nildram\pipex connection.

If you head over to http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=nildram there is nothing but speeds issues and people leaving left, right and center.

I am having issues my self, my connection is 1mb and this past 2 weeks has only been syncing at 184kbps with the exchange which is a joke.

I have phoned CS and i may as well talk to the wall infront of me, they just get you to run the bt speedtester which never works and returns the same results as adslguides and the connection status page on your control panel. I have e-mailed them 3-4 times and got no reply. I will be moving ISP if they cant give me an answer or get it sorted by the end of the week.

Just posting this to maybe see how many nilly/pipex users on here are having the same problems.

i am now connected at 184k and no sign of it going up, :( i used to be connected at 1mb. I phoned them 2-day for the 50th time and told them to get a move on. Going to move for sure at the end of the week if it hasn't got any better.

Yes but where the hell do we move, i just noticed plusnet do the same along with many other ISP's. So come on tell us where we can go.

lmfao :p

Funny enough after another phone call this evening, my connection seems to be fine again. I am synced with the exchange at 1.1mb a sec. Wonder how long it will last.

Pitty i cant get cable in my area or LLU services.

It's worth pointing out that isn't entirely Nildram's fault (though they should be poking BTw with a stick of course).

I full understand that, but i dont think it was anything to do with BT fixing anything on a Saturday evening. Mind you its worth pointing out my pings are not the same, before i was pinging jolt.co.uk ar 30ms which was good for me; now its around 50ms

My router is just a netgear dg834, is there a way i can find out. I asked about interleaving while on the phone to them a few days ago and they told me to take it off i would be charged, that doesn't sound right to me. Anyway i am not fully up to speed with this interleaving, is it a bad or good thing?

Hmmm had a wee read up on interleaving there and its not such a good thing. Think i will get it turned off and see how the line goes, if it cocks up again i will get it turned back on and take it from there.
