Could any Nildram users tell me what speed they get during the day when the traffic shaping is imposed, thinking of using them but i mainly download torrents.

Yeah I would be interested in this also, as I just joined Nildram and mainly use Utorrent.

I have an activation date of 23rd wonder if it might be sooner?

its different all the time..but on avg between 350k/sec and 550k/sec, when its not peak times up to 850k/sec

thats sync'd @ 8128

i get about the same speeds, dont think ive ever seen it as high at 850k though.

have a look here fo my traffic data and see for your self. i migrated from EvolutionDSL to Nildram on the 15th may. hope that helps

i think its really good, as you can see i dont get 700-800k all day but you would not expect to get that, however i do get well over 2mb speeds all the time.

the 50gb limit isnt really a problem for me (i thought it would be - student house with 4 people) but we just set things to start downloading at midnight. overnight we get over 700k so most things finish before the morning.

the newsgroups they provide seem to be ok, its limited to 60k (2x30k feeds) so i use it in conjunction with my newshosting.com account.

i didnt sign up for the voice part of the deal (although it is free with broadband 2 i think) as we are only going to be here for another month or so. next year i think well go with nildram again and get the voice package too. unless of course things have changed a lot by sep/oct

i would recomend them. i have heard that there are problems with their online signup system not working too well but i only had trobble when i was entering the wrong details into the page. if you get problems the phone support answerd very quickly.

anything else youd like to know?

np, hope you get on with them as well as i am.

one thing to note, the 50gb limit is just for download, it doesnt mention this anywhere on the site that i could find, but the tech support people told me it was just download.

Nildram are not the what they were sadly. More dropouts and more lag in games these days. I upgraded to 8mb max dsl service and if anything was worse, with constant 691 errors on connect.
To answer your question, 5.5 mb maximum, average 2-3 mb maximum at peak times, with a 8128 down, 448 up rate.
