Nilfisk Pressure Washer Problems

I've had issues with the tap connector on the front of the nilfisk being cracked as soon as the first blast of water is released. The original cracked, then I replaced it and that cracked straight away too.

I have these connectors:

the metal connector has a water stop, which is what I have attempted to use.

Main question is, would the water stop function be causing this? Last time I used the pressure washer was last year, so I'm unsure what the problem may be. The only thing that has changed are the connections of the hose, i thought I would upgrade to brass from plastic, but this may have been a bad move?

You must have the wrong fittings.

The pressure must be too high, due to restriction maybe.
The water stop shouldn't be in there, it probably can't open fast enough.

Put the plastic fittings back on.

Stupidly binned the plastic, hence why I couldn't just test this out for myself. I'll buy some plastic fittings from screwfix and wonder if they'll take the brass back as not fit for purpose.

I'm not so sure why it's breaking.
My previous post on pressure sounds wrong now..

It may be that the unit is faulty and pressuring the inlet.

Its also possible that this is normal behavior but normally this pressure is absorbed by the hose and causes no problems.
Your one way valve would prevent this and pressure in the inlet may crack it.

Email nilfisk and check but I would swap back to standard fittings or get rid of that one way valve.

It's only £4 for a set of plastic so I'll try that first.

If you imagine I first press the trigger on the pressure washer everything is fine and I can use it if I don't let go, once I let go it cracks the tap connector.

Is the one way valve on the tap end or pressure washer?

Do you have too much water pressure?
Turn the tap to half?

Probably badly designed fittings
EBay?

Fittings all from screwfix as in the op.

I turned the tap down the 2nd time and it blew that too. The water stop connector was on the pressure washer end as that is what connects to the wand usually

I have the same issue here where my hose will blow off the connector if the Nilfisk isn't turned on. I think that's just as the connector can't withstand the pressure on the system.

Its never cracked the plastic parts however.

Let me know please if you find anything more rigid for coupling it!
