is there a connector out there to put a usb socket directly onto a motherboard header so i can put my WIFI and wireless keyboard receivers inside my case.

I've seen USB3 ones on fleabay but no USB 2 ones and i want to use the USB3 header for a front IO

Won't putting them inside your case interfere with the signal?

Anyway....

Do you have one of these brackets you could attach to the USB header and then just leave the bracket inside the case?

Yeh i could use one i just want it all nice and neat inside, i have dropped the front IO header into the case to check the degradation and tbh its hardly noticeable.

just hoped someone had seen one that went straight up into a socket so its all tidy.

Something like this? Have one in my PC, works a charm with my Bluetooth adaptor!

Search Google "Internal USB Plate for Motherboard Pins" - can't mention competitor.

Edit: I also had to remove the surround for the USB header on my board as the bit that sticks up in that picture on the connector made it so it wouldn't fit. On my Gigabyte it was just a tug with a pair of pliers, might be worth bearing in mind.

I know i was surprised to see that when i searched it! I got it from somewhere else more well known (for PC components) but yeah, it's a great little thing, had no problems with it and runs my Matrix Orbital display and bluetooth adaptor fine.

My case has been moved 140 miles 6 times since I have installed it, and had no issues in a car. But the bluetooth adaptor and cable attached to it are very light, so if you had something heavier it might be an issue. It would be a simple unplug and replug tho.

That ones a bit on the pricy side for me, was thinking about getting a dual BT/wifi pcie card but theres not gonna be any room in my case if i decide to go SLI later.

Never thought having a small case would be this much of a compromise.

been looking at the pcie wifi cards but theres no room for the msata port in my case whilst i'm using my water cooler the radiator gets in the way. only thing i can think of to sort that out is to mount both fans on the case side of the radiator to give enough standoff for the card but that in turn increases the load on the mounting holes for transport.

sometimes think i should have just got a laptop but then i play games and all is well
