Got this game on rental and hence no instruction booklet. Not sure if I'm just crap or missing some vital details!

Am only on mission 2 - some forest where you have to fight this troll. My energy level is a bit low by the time I get to him and hence he can squish me quite easily. Is picking up the seemingly infrequent HP restore potions the only way to top up your energy?

Yeah no saving at checkpoints. Its a killer going through the 45 minute missions and getting the the boss and dying

Equip stuff you pick up by pressing start to boost your damage and health etc.

Also if you keep doing a level and dieing - during the "load screen" it says "Level X"

X being, 1,2 or 3: 3 is the hardest, the more you die the lower the difficulty gets :)

Yeah it's a good game if you like that sort of thing. Nothing but button mashing but it's well done. The health and saving can be a right pain though when you die just before the end of a level.

If you want the huge combo bonuses and to level up your character: equip items that reduce the damage your weapons give. On some levels its the only way to get an SS rank.

I wouldn't say its all button mashing. There are some moves that work much better than others against bosses and there are a lot of combos to use too - which gives you bonuses.

It is a good game but is well annoying when you do a long mission and then die with one hit at the end of it lol.

just practice and get better... im trying too lol :)

Typically, after I've been ******* by the boss, I switch the Xbox off for a change of scenery, then load my game and try again. Does this mean I'm going to be at level 3 forever and a day? Do you need to keep replaying continuously for that level to decrease?

This game is similar to dead rising, in that it sucks to play at your initial low level. Once you get your character up to the level 6 ish mark, you get a load of new and more powerful moves and you get a much bigger life bar. If your ever struggling have a look what items your holding, as even some of the items early on in the game can help you get through difficult parts. Can't remember the item name, but it allows your lifebar to hold 40% odd more health - could be useful if your getting stuck on one boss.

If this is the forest level your stuck on, that im thinking about, there are a load of normal enemies around the boss. Try killing these before the boss.

Nope, if it drops to level 2 say and you turn off, itll still be at level 2.

Just load the level n let yourself die at start untill it goes down

i found her the easiest, has some great combo's abuse the one where she spins around and lifts surrounding enemies in the air, cheap but effective

Inphyyuydfyduyfd is regarded as the best and easiest to use character in the game. You'll wish you could use her when you have to endure that stupid troll or witch - god they suck. :)
