Hi

a mate of mine has just passed his test and is trying to decide between a 2001 ninja 600, yamaha r6 or cbr600f.

The bike will be used for commuting as well as fun riding and will also be used in the rain & winter.

I have no experience of using a ninja/r6 as an everyday bike so what do you advise?

ninja zx6 j1/j2,i had the earlier g1 model, exactly the same except for a single front headlight instead of two on the j models

imo its the most comfortable out of those three, the seats wide and the pillion has great grab handles,i used mine everyday for 10years plus, all year round and it was great, plenty power too 160mph+ and good on fuel, the r6 is more track focused in the riding position so might give wrist ache ect

ive clocked up 60k miles on it so far in all that time ive had just the head bearings and the fuel pump fail, everything else mechanical is original, really strong reliable

After test riding a Ninja & CBR he went for a CBR in the end as he said he found it had a better seating position for daily use, cheaper to insure and cheaper to buy.

Thanks.
