Ninja Gaiden 2 Black

Waiting to see what actual version it is, because if they have kept the dual armadillo fight I am not playing through it again. Everything else im cool with.

It's a great remake! ALhtough, strictly speaking, it's a NG2 Sigma remake. I've completed the original NG2 on Xenia emulator a few months ago and it was an epic game, truly one of the best games of all time. The remake is unfortunately once again using NG2 Sigma as its source material, so there are way fewer but tankier enemies and bosses here. But it is still awesome and mods will rebalance it just like they did with Sigma.

Really enjoying this but it seems to top out at 120fps?

Also, it it just me or does FSR3 native seem to be nothing of the sort? Looks considerably worse than all upscaling off.

It does to me, not sure if it's just something iffy with the Game pass version. Apparently the Steam version has more updates with DLSS support among other things.

Thanks. I've decided to just play it on Series X but even on that the 120fps mode looks bloody awful. Looks like FSR ultra performance at work so despite being 120fps it's all smeary. Pointless and 60fps looks and plays much better.

I'm on Steam and just love this remake. It's much easier than the original NG2, even the very hard and master ninja difficulty levels are much easier than the Warrior/hard mode in NG2(I really hope mods will sort this out, as levels feel empty with very few enemies atm), but the remake looks so good that i still cannot put it down :)
The orignial also looks pretty fine on Xenia emulator at 4K, but it's still missing so many nuances like the snow, the RT lighting etc etc

Here's the remake played by someone who actually knows what they are doing

I'm currently playing this and really enjoying it, the combat is extremely fun and violent as hell. The camera is absolutely awful though, it's so bad it's actively hurting the game for me, it's like it's constantly fighting against you. I think I'm on chapter 7 or 8 so about half way and if it continues at this pace it'll be a 8/10 for me, but it could have been a 9/10 with a good camera.

I was very worried at the start of the game, the first cutscene was dropping as low as 35fps, it was terrible, but ever since I haven't dropped a single frame from 120fps (it's hard capped). I have no idea what happened at the start but I'm glad it was just an outlier.

Completed it yesterday (9/10 from me, the original NG2 was an 11/10 :)) and for me the camera is perfectly fine. My biggest complaint is with the vastly reduced enemy numbers and how they compensate with relative tankiness. But there is a big patch coming up, really hope it will address this.
Camera is perfect for NG2 with its hordes of mobs, Dark Souls like camera lock on just would not work for this. In the remake the enemies are fewer and I can understand people's craving for a DS style camera, but I'd much rather have NG2 hordes.

The long awaited update, looks like they ARE moving towards the original NG2 experience - more enemies, enemies are less tanky. Photo mode sounds cool too

I'm noticing quite a few missing textures, I don't remember seeing this before the patch :/

Never played the original.

Is it good?
It's a 8 or 9 out of 10 remake of an 11/10 original game. It's different, "they don't make games like this any more", super violent, super fast, simple yet deep combat mechanics. I'd advise watching some short guides before playing though, as there is little handholding here. E.g.

Yep, this does look like a bug, I have it also. I also don't remember seeing this before the patch. All (?) other levels seem to be ok though.
