Ninja Gaiden sigma dificulty question

I Was watching the gametrailers video review as im interested in getting this game, but they said its the same difficulty as the original xbox ones, which is so hard you have to restrain yourself from throwing the controllers accross the room, is this true? The demo didnt seem to bad, but that was only a small part of the game.
 
I got this for the ps3 and i can say it is extremely hard! You do not get to choose an easy option and you are given no tutorials when playing the game for the first time. The only way to unlock the "easy" mode (ninja dog) is to die multiple times untill it gives you the option to play at this difficulty from the continue screen, after that it is much easier.
 
Its supposed to be easier than Ninja Gaiden black due to some game play tweeks and improved camera. If you die three times you get the option of Ninja Dog which is essentially "easy" mode, its an easy game but its fair and i didnt find it frustrating. if you not played the other versions defiantly get it
 
Having played all versions of the game I have to disagree about the difficulty, Sigma is easier then the Xbox version, but also dont expect it to be a walk in the park either. I would say Sigma's hard mode is comparable to Ninja Gaiden Blacks normal mode. Also the Demo gives you some of the best weapons from the game, fully upgraded for the first level so its not going to be as hard.

But don't let the difficulty put you off one of the greatest games the Xbox had :) Its only hard the first time you play through then once you're used to the game everything becomes much easier (on normal any higher and it starts to become a challenge)

One word of advice though if you try to play this game like you would God of War or Devil May Cry then it will be difficult for you, but if you learn to block, roll and counter attack when necessary then it will be a very enjoyable game :)

I'm currently on Chapter 11 and it's getting damm tough now. I just beat two tanks which took virtually all my health bottles, only to be faced with a helicopter :-/

Great game, but maybe just a bit to tough for my liking?
 
Normal difficulty, it's given me the option to unlock Ninja Dog but I refuse every time :)

Maybe I should just except next time?
 
The tanks are quite easy to defeat without taking any damage. Just shoot 4 explosive arrows, Jump+Roll to avoid the tank shell, rinse and repeat. If done properly you should be able to kill both without taking much damage.

The helicopter is more difficult, but the same thing applies just dodge the heat seeking missiles by rolling+jumping at the last second and fire APFSDS cores when its not firing missiles or dropping bombs on you.
