I haven't seen this posted yet, but there's now a Nintendo channel for the Wii...

Nintendo said:
Downloadable free of charge via Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo Channel allows you to watch videos, search for games, download game demos to your Nintendo DS and recommend games you’ve played.

The Nintnedo Channel has been updated with various videos and DS demos. There are 5 DS demos that all expire on (Expires 6/8/08): Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End, Worms: Open Warfare 2, High School Musical: Makin’ The Cut!, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Cake Mania 2.

Just played the Ninja Gaiden demo for the DS using the service, awesome game and awesome service. might get Gaiden for my hols :D

Demos were crap when I downloaded the channel when it was first released end of May. Good to see a few decent titles on there now. Interesting vid of Miyamoto discussing Wii Fit, and the game search service (which has user 'reviews' to make it easy to find games based on preference) is quite good too.

It's got a lot of potential if they put exclusive content that you won't get anywhere else on t'internet.

Just bought another DS for my holiday as I sold mine last year sometime so good to try out a few demos while Im waiting for things to turn up in the post.

Seems all a little hidden on the Wii, you can guarantee your average Wii user probably doesnt even realise any of the additional channels are there. The DS demos in the channel also seem hard to find, I assumed it was all just videos before and just flicked it off.

Not sure how, but Nintendo need to convey what else is available on the Wii a bit better, especially as this stuff is for free and only needs a wireless network which most people probably have.

wii demo's please, it's screaming out for them

and an iPlayer channel instead of needing the internet channel first

I've only just tried this channel after posting, but where are the 'new' demos? I can't see any of the 5 mentioned.

So only useful if you have a DS?
Its got videos of Wii games, and Wii Ware games too. Nothing you couldnt find online Im sure, but still nice to get a little preview of some of the titles.

Really is calling out for Wii game demos, the downloadable demos are prbably one of my favourite things about the 360.
