Nintendo DS and it's mic

I've just started playing Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass (I managed to miss it when it was first released) and it's reminded me how annoying I find games which use the DS built in microphone. I usually play with headphones so I don't annoy people around me, and three times now i've either had to blow or shout into the mic to progress. It's not too bad when there isn't anyone around, but when there is it i've got to decide if i'm going to accept the weird looks people give me or save my game and do it later.

Is it just me that finds this annoying? It really feels like they just added this into the game because the mic is there. It doesn't add anything to the game at all (IMHO)

I thought blowing into the mic to blow out flames was pretty cool... shouting at it is stupid however.

i hate that too! but i found that blowing usually does the trick nomatter what the game is asking you to do

i just act like im trying to blow some dirt off of the screen
