Nintendo DS Hard Drive/memory

I've had this preordered for a while now http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/13/nintendo-ds-max-media-player-with-4gb-drive/ but it keeps getting delayed.

I know you can get some card thing to put in but can some1 give me details on what cards you can buy for the DS which plays video, music and emulation and are they easy to navigate around to play music/videos etc?

You have the Movie Player in SD Version / Compact Flash:-

Then you have two types of devices for emulation and other things, the Supercard and the M3 Perfect although for obvious reasons I can't discuss or post links about these.

hmm, after doing a bit more research it turns out that this relies entirely on some Moonshell thing to make it work. There is no 1st party software which comes with it and it has kind of put me off it.

Do them movie players in SD/compact flash versions fit into the GBA slot and then you put SD cards into them? Does anybody have them and is it worth it? Are there menu's which are easy to choose the music/pictures/videos and do they go easily from the PC to the DS?

well in all honesty the ds isnt equiped for video. The M£ has its own video capability 'crystal engine' i believe but the converter software is terrible and the quality/file size is poor.

Moonshell on the other hand is very good. howver it plays .dpg for movies which is hard to convert to. But the quality is much better.

I dont know how much you paid but if you want a good base for videos, music and home made apps then the m3 or supercard are best coupled with a large sd card (very cheap on ebay these days).

I dont know what the official play yan is like, but I was put off by the lack of english software.
