My girlfriend decided to purchase a Nintendo DS Lite, having played Dr Kawashima's Brain Training on a demo machine in Game.

I've personally never really had much time for the DS, due to it being Technologically inferior to the PSP, however, having had a few goes on my girlfriend's DS I an very impressed.

She bought the following games with it ; Sims 2 Pets, Monopolu/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship funpack, and Dr Kawashima's Braintraining.

I've been hooked on Sims2 and Boggle, I can see we are going to be squabling over who gets to go on the DS LOL.

Are there any decent racing games on the DS, or is this where the PSP comes in? I also remember reading somewhere it is possible to play videos on the DS, is this true?

finnally got rounf to picking up a DS myself, got a new job and will be all over the country so I figured it would give me something to do.

so far only got mario and the brain training one, loving it though, class little console.

are there any must have games (other than mario kart, im just not a fan)

oh one other thing, it says it Wi-Fi, does that mean it can hook up to my internet connection, it doesnt find it I click on download games. does it only hook to unsecured rouetrs of is there an option to enter passwords etc, i cant find it if there is.

Hi, yes if you got a wireless router then you can use wifi on the DS no problem. I am using a Orange Livebox Router which is wireless with WEP security and I can connect no problem. If you ain't got a wireless router then you need to buy a nintendo USB wifi adaptor to create a wireless access point.

How are you setting up the wifi, using the "manual setup" or "search for an access point" or the "AOSS" option after pressing the Nintendo WiFi settings button.

You need the manual setup so you can so you can enter your details like SSID, WEP Key and just follow those instructions and you should be OK.

also just note that the DS does not support WPA encryption. Only WEP.

There are plenty of unencrypted networks around not to worry about WEP getting hacked, or if you do worry then just set your router to MAC addresses, the DS has a MAC address.
