I'm really after getting a Nintendo DS sometime soon, and with the DSi around the corner, will there be any bargains to be had on DS handhelds do you think? I mean there must be plenty of old stock to shift?

personally i'd wait and get the DSi. I've got 2 DS Lites and they are great fun.

I think some places are offering guaranteed trade in prices for DS's against a DSi.

Might be worth trawling auctions sites looking for a cheapy second model with the aim of trading in :D

I don't know if there will be any DS price cuts, I doubt it, as Nintendo have said the DSi isn't a replacement for the DS it is an alternative and both will continue to be produced alongside each other.

The DS offers GBA backwards compatability and a cheaper price point.

The DSi offers more features and DLC at a higher price point.

I think it just depends on which one you want to do.

The DS Lite will be the most simpliest choice if you just want to play DS games, along with GBA games if you have any.

The DSi for the new features (Minus GBA support) or exclusive DSiWare software, which also is the only part that supports the better wireless security technology like WPA/WPA2. The regular DSes and DS games only support standard WEP.
