2 quick questions about Nintendo Wiis and DS's:

1) Are US Wii controllers and games compatible with a UK Wii?
2) Are UK DS Lite games compatible with a US DS Lite?

Thanks y'all. :)

The answer to 2 is yes. All DS' are region free, except you need a Chinese DS to play Chinese DS as it has a bit of extra ROM in it to store the language glyphs. Besides that, any game will play in any DS and you can play wireless altogether.

There can be some issues with some games when you use the Nintendo online service, as if you have, say, a US game it will want to connect to US servers, I think. I can't comment on this though, as my only online USA game is Clubhouse Games and I've not tried that online yet.

EDIT: The above problem will not occur with UK games and a US DS Lite as it's the games that fuss about foreign servers, not the console.

Will a Chinese DS work with UK DS'? My gf has just headed off to HK with her family and i asked her to grab one there.

I haven't yet experienced any online problems with games from other regions so I think you should be absolutely fine. Streeteh I would imagine that would be fine as there are a **** load of HK imports on the Bay and the hardware is basically the same, you will need a step down converter though I think as the HK unit will be runining on 110volts.

US wii games will not work with Uk Wii's.

Im pretty sure the controllers will not work either. There was a bit of a hoo har about it when the wii was released and people were looking for import controllers as the uk was pretty dry of them.

I can confirm US and Jap controllers work on UK Wii's. Games won't.

All handheld games can be played on any region machine, DS or PSP (UMD movies do not though).
