Nintendo Wii faked at E3?

The fact that the wiimote was working with the hardware (and that is the biggest advance with the Wii over the cube), removes most of the worries about the hardware

If it had been a case of Nintendo being accused of not having a working wiimote, and that part being dodgy it would be a different matter (and nintendo sort of made that accusation hard to make

).

That's essentially why no-one cares.. The part everyone was worried about worked fine, who cares if it was on a gamecube.. looks the same as everything else.

It's also not as drastic as being done on an apple when your company is MS

At least its going on essentially the same series..

The only thing to think is that this is good as the Wii hardware will probably make it even better looking

Blimey my innocent questions got a bit of reaction

Honestly it wasnt meant as a pop at Sony (hold my hands up im not their biggest fan but this wasnt a cheap shot) it was an actual question about e3 and wether anyone knew if the PS3 stuff was running on an actual finished PS3 or mocked up hardware.

I singled them out because they were the only other ones to point the finger at! I couldnt say were m$ using non finished tech because the 360 is out!!

It doesnt really matter to me at all if nintendo were using unfinished tech or Sony were using unfinished tech as its months away from launch and theirs plenty of time for all that hardware refining stuff.

Nah - would've been on either a Dev rig or on a PC... it's all about the marketing in the end and there are only so many times you can show an empty plastic case

The point of me starting the thread was not so much to have a dig, but more exasperation at the constant 'undercover' OMGisms that seem to go on... was more out of amusement... it's like watching really big toddlers fighting in a sand pit...

No, the market share is mine... no mine... no mine... waaaaaa... Nintendo just Wii'd in the sandpit

(It's just so open to it, isn't it...)

Sony are picked on for not having working hardware because last E3 they had plastic PS3 shells and said they were Playstation 3s. Then they had no working games whatsoever, only renders.

Both the Wii and Xbox 360 made no false claims (Nintendo had Wiis in GC boxes, MS had Macs), and they had playable games.

This year there weren't final PS3s, but there were playable games. No one has whined or complained about that, since there is nothing to whine or complain about. There was last year when Sony implied that the PS3 was finished, and the games were all 'in-game' which they weren't.
