The other day i got that disk read error and after checking all the games I have found that about half wouldnt either load at all or crashed midgame. Got RMA from nintendo and sent it back. There tracking system stated a minor fault and that the console had been repaired. I got it back yesterday.
Now here is the good bit - I use MAC address filtering on my wifi network (due to PDA having real issues with WEP/WPA) so after setting the necessary parameters in the Wii menu assumed it would connect (the MAC address would be the same). Well it didnt. I checked MAC and it was different. Then I looked at the serial number. It is a different console!!!

I had noticed that the Game Cube port covers were far looser than before and there were a couple of surface scratches when before there were none, but just thought the knocks of shipping or repair process caused these.
Needless to say I will be phoning Nintendo's service centre on Monday. What is the likely outcome?
