Hi all

just seen a WII at work today, looks great fun, so had a look around for prices, seem to start at £180 inc sports pack

Ive just done a google search for one, and found one at £109.99 about 5 pages in, it says its "out of stock" could this be a scam site?

£109.99 is too good to be true I'm afraid.

Last Christmas I paid around £220 for a second hand one with a few games. I imagine the price will be around the same now.

now ive read the small print.....

"This item is factory refurbished with no major blemishes and boxed with 3 months RTB warranty.

please note this product Will not be avialable until after xmas.. "

still seems rather cheap doesent it?

maybe if it had a years warranty with a reputable company it might be worth it, otherwise avoid! I'd suggest not bothering with a wii as a console though, they look fun and are good when you get them but after zelda and smash bros the novelty dies down and realise you have a £200 paperweight (Ok thats an over-exaggeration and flamebait, though there aren't many great titles)

Wouldn't touch!

Agreed, buy a first hand one.

I'm going to be the voice of doom and gloom and say this; it's likely you shouldn't buy one at all. The serious lack of good titles for the Wii has utterly crippled it in terms of long term enjoyment. Sure Wii sports is incredibly new, fresh and fun but after you get bored of that there's only a handful of titles to move on to. The majority of developers have taken the path of selling out and making cheap tacky games that appeal to children/the masses, with very little of the Wiis potential fulfilled it becomes boring fast.

I am only one voice however, so don't take my word as gospel but do consider my Wii is currently collecting dust under my TV, unused for around 3 months now.

DO take this as gospel. There is some utter tripe shovelware on the console. Most of the games are shovelware, theres some cracking first party titles though.

Id recommend getting a new one too, weve taken ours to a few places now and even though its in its padded bag etc, the disc is getting louder after every trip.

I guess you wouldnt have that issue if its just sitting under your tv but ive probably used mine more at other peoples houses than my own lol.
