So I've started playing Nioh and its destroying me! I finished bloodbourned and DS3 no problem but this is really killing me...literally. I dont have a clue where to put my points and the second boss is proving impossible. Has anyone got any good tips about where I should be putting points?

Can't help you mate, sorry. But that looks a right good game, going to check this out!
Thanks for flagging, and good luck.

Much like Souls, a spear is an easy way out if you're struggling, and the weapons/gear are the definitive 'difficulty mode'. I've been finding the game really easy with medium armor & regular katana. Ki pulsing is important and low attack stance switching is vital for dodging enemy attacks properly, especially the bosses that have large area attacks. With the katana I usually deal damage in high stance against bosses then flip to low stance during the ki pulse to get out of the way, it's easier than it sounds and since the boss on the ship with the ball 'n chains when I first started out no boss has stood a chance.

Thanks dude. I’ve just started using my living sword power after grinding up my magic and spirit to 10. Totally slayed that boss first go once I activated magic sword mode!

In true souls fashion though, the next boss destroyed me in two hits so now I’m grinding again. I’ve gone medium armour and I have a large katana and a spear as my second weapon and it seems to be going a lot better than it was upon starting out. There’s loads of nuance to this game and very little is properly explained to you.

Souls likes for you, they like for people to figure stuff out on their own. I don't rate the odachi though, it's good damage and efficient for bosses if you don't get greedy but I feel the regular katana probably does way more dps once you get in the hang of mixing defense with offense.

Getting to grips slowly. Level 33 and I finally beat the third boss which was quite easy once you figure the patterns and stock up on needles to stop the paralysis she throws at you. Really enjoying it now.
