NIS and Automounts

If I update automount maps on the NIS server do I need to refresh the ypbind process or any other process (automountd etc) on the clients or do they dynamically pick up the new automounts locations?

Hi,

I'd imagine you would have to (at the very least) restart autofs, and you may have to go the whole hog and restart autofs, automountd, portmap and nfs. It may just be simpler to reboot the clients- sledgehammer to crack a nut but less headaches (and a lot cleaner) in the long run

edit: The above is also assuming you've re-made ypbind.
