My nephew part ex'd his Blue Subaru WRX for £2.5K and got himself a Nissan Juke 10 plate with 18.5K miles on the clock. I've never seen this car before, it's pretty nice. Got some great features on the dashboard. 1.6 petrol, apparently does 40mpg. Boot is quite cool, there's a second boot space underneath. Here's some pics of it I took today.

Random thread?

What's next, "my hairdressers friend just bought a Focus"?

Didn't realise this car is so common, I've never seen one before. Thought it might be of interest to some. Certainly doesn't seem that spacious inside though. It's big enough for him, his wife and 2 year old though.

The 1.6 Nissan Joke does about 37mpg average IME. I wouldn't call the "features" on the dash great. It's an all right car but that's all.

While I applaud you for your marvellous play on words, and even though it's not the greatest car on the road, how exactly is this car a joke? Does it break down a lot?
Do all middle of the road cars now have onscreen reversing, built in sat nav and the other features shown as standard?

Have you seen it in person? It's the Tardis only with reverse logic. A Re-Tardis, if you will.

Yes, pretty much. It's not 1997 any more.

Have I seen it in person? Yes, I took the pictures. I said so at the beginning. It's a Nissan which as far as I know are still quite reliable, it has some nice features and it isn't THAT ugly. Is there really any need for the arrogant and sarcastic answers? You come across as a bit of a douche tbh.

I assumed you posted pictures of your nephew's car to encourage discussion about the car. If I thought you had posted to have everyone blow smoke up your ass I probably wouldn't have replied.

You call me a douche and then make a "dick" reference. Why the need to get personal over differing opinions on what is, quite frankly, a mediocre car? That reaction says a whole lot more about you than it does about me.

Enjoy the car.

Don't try and turn the tables on me mate. This is more than about differing opinions. You came into this thread as an opportunity to criticize, and demonstrate that you're good at being a smartass.

I came into this thread to post my opinion on the car in question given that I have spent some time driving one. I did just that. You got your knickers in a twist because everyone didn't post "NICE CAR M8". There's no need to be such a sensitive Sally.

EDIT: I've totally been sucked in. Arguing on the internet is almost as retarded as the Nissan Juke looks. No hard feelings from me :D

Lol well let's see now.

I then asked you two straight questions.

post #12 more sarcasm from you.

post #14 oh look, more sarcasm from you.

Are you getting the picture here? ;)

this is one of the most common new cars on the road today.

how have you never seen it before?

I quite like the Juke Nismo. I read they are thinking of doing an RS model soon too?

actually, reading the thread. wasn't the op the guy who posted his nephews WRX and kicked off when someone said it wasnt the best example?
or am i thinking of someone else?

I suppose I should have noticed it on the road before now. I generally only take notice of exotic sports cars and prestige cars, they're the only ones that interest me. Lambos, Ferraris, TVR's, Range Rovers, the big Audi's, etc. Everything else is just another regular car on the road to me. But since I've seen one up close today, I thought I'd make a thread about it. I'm no great fan of it, but I think it's nice as a runaround car and doesn't warrant the 'you gotta be kidding me.. a juke??' criticism it's receiving.

Yes it was me you're thinking of and I hardly 'kicked off' as you put it. If people talk rubbish, I'll sometimes say something. Some thought the WRX wheels were rubbish. Lol, they weren't, they were Team Dynamic Alloys. Someone said they were the wrong colour. No, they were black and looked good. A blue Subaru doesn't have to have gold wheels. They said he wouldn't get anywhere near £3K. Lol, he did. Effectively saying the WRX was a POS. And now he's sold it people are saying 'huh? he traded a WRX for a Juke?'

So he's now traded it for something more sensible, newer, quite smart looking, nice features, and more economical. Really can't see the problem tbh. I don't argue to defend these cars because they're my nephew's, it makes no odds to me as they're not my cars. I just can't believe some of the things people come out with.

Fair enough, ganesh's points were all about the styling, but this car's faults aren't limited to that.

It's a soft-roader which is terrible off road, and has the looks of a people carrier, but with none of the space. It can do absolutely nothing it's looks insinuate except let the driver and passengers sit 6" above everyone else on the road. If that's what you want, buy yourself a good car and a booster seat from Babies R' Us.

So let's analyse all the 'faults' of this car according to you.

It's terrible off road .. ok, well, far as I'm aware, offroading is not something everyone needs, otherwise, they'd buy a car suitable for off road. Surprising that isn't it. I know my nephew has no interest in that, he just needs it to travel 40 miles to work and back several times a month.

It has the looks of a people carrier but with none of the space.. well my nephew presumably likes or doesn't mind the looks. If he'd needed more space, he would have bought a bigger car, no?

He can sit higher than other cars.. very nice. :)

buy yourself a good car.. hang on, last time I checked, Nissan were one of the japanese names known for reliability. Seeing as it's a popular car and there's apparently lots of them on the road, I imagine it's doing ok and isn't getting a reputation for breaking down. In my book, reliability is the biggest factor in determining a 'good' car. If someone now tells me it actually IS an unreliable car that is known for being in the garage a lot, then fair enough. Until then, how are all your points remotely important as being faults? If someone needs a car that has lots more space and does offroading, they'd look for one wouldn't they?
