Nitro Concepts s300 broken base

I've got a the above s300 and have a similar issue to the one discussed here:

In that the gas strut has forced its way through the base, but in my case the base appears to be split. I contacted Nitro and they came back (very quickly) that they had no spares at the moment.

Now I could've sworn I bought it from OC but I can't find an order number against it, so that's annoying, but my question is:

are bases freely 'interchangeable' for example, could I just use this one:

rather than be forced to buy a whole new chair?

So long as the hole is the right size it should be fine. they've listed the size as 5cm on that link. so maybe just measure your seat to see how it looks.

I completely missed that so thank you! I quickly measured and the main section is 5cm wide with a 4.5cm section at the base where it clearly is used to be inserted. Time to order. I'll come back with feedback in case anyone else has a similar problem

It didn't but I managed to wrangle a free replacement base from Nitro Concepts directly. Not entirely sure how but they somehow thought it was a warranty replacement and who am I to argue?

I did, yes. Got an initial reply of "we've got none now, ask again in a few months" I did and by some miracle got a freebie.
