This is driving me crazy now..

The problem is no matter what setting I have in the Nvidia CP the game that I'm playing Always overrides the CP settings. It won't even let me change the "Texture Filtering - Quality"

I've tried Old drivers, New drivers, used drive sweeper to make sure there was nothing left behind causing a problem, I've also googled the problem and it only came up with this suggestion:

"Go to your System32 folder, inside the Windows folder. Find these two files:
nvapps.xml
nvwsapps.xml
Right-click, Properties. I think it is like the Security or Compatibility tab (not on Vista comp. right now), but whatever. Give both files Full Control for all users."

That didn't work.

Just wondering if anyone has more suggestions what I could do ?

Anyone ?

It's really starting to annoy me now as I'm trying to force settings through the Control Panel, Yet it's not using my settings, it's always letting the game decide.
The most annoying thing tho is that the CP won't let me change the "Texture Filtering - Quality" from "High Performance" to "High Quality". Aswell as refusing to let me change the "Maximum Pre-rendered Frames" Which is set to high and causing mouse lag in certain games.

Still having this problem, I've tried everything I can think of. I've even turned UAC off incase that was the problem but that made made no difference, any other ideas ?

Uninstall and reinstall drivbers maybe?

Dry a different set of drivers?

Clean your old ones out first with driver cleaner?

I've tired old drivers, new drivers and even ran drive sweeper to clean up all the leftovers, but it's made no difference.
No matter what drivers I'm using I still can't change any settings in the control panel.

Finally found out what was causing the problem :D !!

It was the "Nvidia Display Driver Service". I disabled it, rebooted, enabled it again and now it's allowing me to change the settings again. :D
It was one service causing all this annoyance.. But atleast it's now fixed.
