Hey, having just started reading up on Adobe Premiere/Creative Suite as a soloution for my editing needs. I wanted to know how effective an Nvida gpu would help, with editing/encoding HD video etc compared to an AMD soloution?

I can understand how an Intel chipwould really help (i7 4/6 cores etc), and im still stuck on which chip to go for. But i was most interested in how a gpu could help with editing, Adobe & Nvida list the 470 as fully supported in premiere, but will the 5** series be supported in the future?.

Any advise would be awsome, the Adobe suite is a big outlay, but if it works well it could be a great one time purchase, thanks :D

Adobe software doesn't support it (Sandybridge) yet. I've found that Photoshop accelerates on my laptop with 8600 but not on my desktop with a 4890 fwiw. This isn't the newerest version of Photoshop mind.
