nlite and .Net Framework 2.0

Lo all,

I'm trying to make an XP install disk using Nlite. I'm getting sick and tired of installing XP over and over but it keeps ******* up. However, I can't install nlite without .net framework 2.0 installed and windows wont let me install .net 2.0

I've gone through uninstalling .net 1.1 and all the updates for it etc etc. there's no specific error mentioned when I try to install .net 2.0, it just says it cant install.

I'm getting myself a Macbook pro in a few months because I'm sick to death of my PC and windows. However, Until then I would like a computer that actually works, and the way things are going, I'm not going to get my wish

Does anyone know if there's a way to force windows to install .net 2.0 or if there's a way of using nlite without it?

Are you trying to install .Net 2.0 through Windows Update or have you downloaded the full version to install from the computer?

I think nLite can run on some reduced version of .Net. See http://www.nliteos.com/download.html and at the bottom is something about .Net 2.0 RC3. They might work, give them a go and see.

use this tool first to cleanup your .net (it removes them all i think)

http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip

then use the ryanvm .net 2 installer http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/
(filename is dotnet2.exe)

then try nlite
