Nlite - where to add extra files

vpc + vmware are the same, (neither will use your actual hardware) they just use generic drivers for the hardware it emulates

create a new partition to test on, or use a seperate hd (probably a better idea)

I've got a 74Gb Raptor that Windows is running off now. I also have a 250Gb secondary drive. Install Windows to the 250Gb drive then?

no that does the same thing as vmware I believe.

With regards to ryanvm, do I just download

Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.4

And then use the addons part of nlite in the same way? I assume this should be at the top of the list?

yeah, whack it at the top

when using the ryanvm pack, just add that, do nothing else in nlite, then load up nlite again, becuase rvm pack adds a few languages (other wise you'll do your removals before the extra languages are added to your disc)

ive already created an nlite session and deleted all the stuff i dont need, set all the preferences up etc. Do I need to start from scratch again?

it'll remove all files on the drive..

i'd unplug the raptor just to be on the safe side when installing (and any usb drives)

So quit nLite immediately after adding the RyanVM pack then load it up? We meant to use one of the Last Session ini's to get the RyanVM stuff back again?

no, just only select addons, add rvm next next next etc, so you get the 'processing' screen, where it adds files etc (takes 3-10 mins)

then quit nlite and start over (this time dont add rvm), and carry on as normal

personally i never use the last session ini's

So you select all the options each time? :o

Think i'll just use automatic updates, cba to start again lol

Also, if ive already copied the files from the cd to a directory, integrated some sp2 and some addons, will I need to re-copy the files from the original cd before I integrate ryanvm?

no will be fine as it is

as long as you're only integrating one hotfix pack (ie, if you had rvm 2.1.3 then on that same xpsource addd 2.1.4 you'd have problems)

what i've done is slipped sp2, then copied that to my backup drive

x:\XPSP2

then i just copy that to C each time i want to nlite a new disc up
