No 13th F1 team in 2011

Just announced

There will be no 13th team on the F1 grid in 2011

The World Motor Sport Council announced today that none of the applications met the criteria to fill the vacant place on the grid.

Hmm guess no team is better than another USF1 again but it is a shame.

Yeh shame, would have been nice to see some more teams

TBH. They left it a bit late again to get a team competitive for 2011. it should have been announced at the start of the season rather that leaving it until this far in.

Lotus did a reasonable job in 5 months, but they admitted that the car was ultra conservative as they didn't have time to optimise it or spend as much time in the wind tunnel before having to start production to get to the first race.

Give the incoming teams a season to run up, allow them to test, do promotional runs, driver evaluations and you may have a team worth keeping instead of HRT...

Very true, they start the whole process way too late. Just the same as the tyres which are now being rushed through with some tests.
