The AA is not working I don't think?

I know it was on my ATi card as 8xAA ground to a halt, but 8xAA in BFBC2 on my GTX260 it's smooth as silk and I'm sure I can still see some jaggys.

Also in Crysis, I was playing DX10, 1680x1050, very high, 4xAA, and I'm sure there was no AA, not to mention it was playable, hell it was borderline playable at 8xAA.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Will.

With Crysis and BfBC2 doesnt the game only run AA on some edges and not on everything?

Oh yeah I just remebered. The folage on Crysis uses some kind of software edge smoothing. I don't think AA has any effect on it. Best way to check would be to walk up to a house/hut and have a look how that's rendered. Far Cry 2 is similar, you only really notice jaggies on the odd woodern bridge to happen to cross now and again.

Is a GTX260 216 clocked to the performance of a stock GTX 285 enough to run Crysis on 1680x1050, very high, with 4xAA, cause either my settings are wrong somehow deep in the engine, or it was running smooth!

Well I can run it like that and it's ok-ish. Maybe 20 fps at a guess but that's that 1920x1200 so yeah it would be playable. A GTX 260 isn't really going to be any faster than the 4870 512mb apart from games that will make good use of the extra vram. At 1680x1050 I would imagine that's not all that often. at 1920x1200 it would probably be a bit of a killer at times.

You might want to enable adaptive MSAA to get rid of all the jaggies about, particularly those on transparent textures. You can do this in the gfx card control panel. Depending on game you can also try supersampling, but it comes with a bigger performance hit.
