Hey all,
i have been given my sisters pc to repair/sort out due to a few problems with it not giving out sound & not installing programs.
On closer inspection there is no access to the admin account, there are a number of user accounts on the computer & a admin account folder but no access to it through ANY of the user accounts & none of the user accounts have admin privilages.
At the moment im thinking of a complete reinstall of the operating system (as its quite a mess whats on there anyway & running slower than it should) but, i do not have the driver discs (sister threw them away, bless!) & i went to the manufacturer website (Lenova) but can not find this model on there (no model numbers visible on outer/inner case or in windows as im aware). So heres my questions:
>>How do i find out (or what is the best way of finding out) what drivers i'll be needing to find?
>>I can't access the BIOS (can't get it to work on the prompt, a Lenova screen comes up at coldboot asking to press enter to "skip boot process" but doesnt respond to keyboard) so is a reinstall of windows wise? I was going to format the disc via my pc but i'll need to change boot prioty, right?
>>Failing that, i've not tried reinstalling through the op system but given the lack of admin privilages would this work?
