No advantage in buying 11th Gen

Just watched a video from Jayztwocents where he built a $1500 rig but used 11th gen because (which seems logical) 12th gen is geared for DDR5. However, I've just priced up an 11th Gen Build using the same components as my 12th gen build and it only comes out £20 cheaper. Plus the i7-11700k seems worse than the i5-12600k in benchmarking. My conclusion is that there is no point building an 11th gen rig even if you are only planning to use DDR4 in 12th gen. Am I right?

$289 for the i7-11700k so not too far of the 12th gen. Think I'll stick with 12th gen and DDR4. Thanks @JollyJamma
