no aerial socket in my room

hi, my room doesnt have an aerial socket connecting to the main aerial in the house. i've used a normal indoor aerial before on my old chunky(hugeeee, not in the good way just big and ugly) tv and i didnt have any problems. i was thinking of getting a small 17-19 inch LCD tv, but my m8 was saying how u cant use indoor aerials on lcd or plasmas..dont know how true that is. also will need to hook up my freeview box to the tv aswell, along with ps2.

ideally i would like to add the socket but dont wanna start hacking away at my wall or worste getting my dad to install it.

would it be possible to use an indoor aerial?

im in birmingham area, checked my post code when i went to get my freeview box and they said "yep thats fine". my biggest worry is will indoor aerials work with LCD tvs? my m8 seems to think not...personally cant see why they wouldnt but im a newbie.

also aerial with these specs work?

will an indoor aerial be fine to use with an lcd?

edit- n was just thinkin flat because i thought a normal bunny ear one would look hideous
