Hi all, Don't usually post in this section but I'm after some advice after some audio problems.

I recently got rid of a Borked Creative sound card as it kept crashing my pc, since I can't afford another one or uninstall the device from device manager I unplugged it and downloaded the latest Realtek onboard drivers.

Ever since then, there has been no audio coming from my speakers and the front input has been flashing popup's saying "Disconnected" "connected" continuously.

I downloaded a driver cleaner and uninstalled everything creative I could find, but still no joy.

anyone able to shed some light on my issue.

Any help appreciated, Sinny

Hey man

Did you plug the speakers into the right 3.5mm jack on the back of the mobo yer?

Otherwise, I would make sure that in windows sound properties (if you're on Win 7 you right click the little speaker icon on taskbar and go to 'playback devices') the realtek is selected as default device.

Yeah it's plugged into the correct one, my Realtek HD audio device is selected as my default device too.

I also get theis constant popup that an audio device has been connected/dissconnected. I've tried various drivers and no joy.

I'm thinking a system wipe may be necessary :|

Check you connection on the board if you use a front panel jack. Also make sure the audio is enabled in the BIOS

Its enabled in the BIOS and the front USB is working so I assume so should the audio jacks.

I've reformatted the HDD and installed windows 7 again, still no joy. I think my onboard may be fudged even though it looks like its working fine. May need a new sound card.

So you're not getting sound from the outputs directly on the rear of the motherboard either?

I assume Realtek is set to default in the Windows sound properties? More than likely, if there are no other audio outputs present.

As far as I'm aware, my sound management window is set to my rear output jack correctly, it displays audio as being processed visually from the equalizer bar.

the Realtek splash page highlights that I've connected my Amplifier (which works when I connect it to my phone so no issue there).

It doesn't display any signs of not working except the no audio part. It's really weird, especially since I've reformatted the hard drive I had windows on and reinstalled.

Audio does work through HDMI on my Graphics card, and it's displaying as working in my Device manager.

IT really is VERY frustrating.

I have ordered a new Sound card, can't complain at £20 or so, but I really would like sound in the mean time.

Googling proved useless :<.

I'm usually good at resolving these issues, but so far I've not manager to sort it, except for ordering a new card.

edit - my 2 front ports display as microphone being connected, despite no audio jack's being plugged in.

edit 2 - I also have an Unknown device in "other devices", not sure what it is as I've updated all my drivers, not sure if they're connected if my sound drivers are installed.
