Ok, now started to install my new system, after being away in Europe for some time.

Installed XP Pro on the new HDD and then installed the MoBo drivers from the CD Rom using the Express Install.

Rebooted the computer, and found that my Audio is not working.

I am using the Rear Audio channels and not the front ones.

Even though I installed the drivers from the CD Rom installation, the device manager states that no driver exists for my High Definition Audio Bus.

But my System Device shows that the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver is working properly.

I have reinstalled XP 3 times now and manually installed the HD Audio Drivers in different sequence and still no audio.

I have even downloaded the latest audio Drivers off the Gigabyte site and I get a error message when I try and install that.

I also get an error message when I try to uninstall the drivers because it says that no driver exists.

Done a few searches on the net for this, and it seems a common problem, but no solution.

Does anybody here have one, as I assume that a lot of you have this board, or have you purchased an extra sound card ?

Solved my own problem.

Ok I downloaded the latest Audio drivers and saved the folder to my desktop.

Then I went into the Device Manager and clicked on properties of

MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER FOR HD AUDIO and clicked on Drivers tab

I then uninstalled the driver, clicked on rescan for hardware and then manual installed the drivers from the folder on the desktop and pointed it to the WMDA folder.

It all now works !!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a confusing way of doing things, and I am very surprised that Gigabyte have allowed their Installation CD to be released without thorough testing.

But I guess this was tested on VISTA and not XP.

I have to write this down now for future reference.
