No audio on youtube

Can't seem to hear anything on youtube when playing video.

Anyone any suggestions - can hear everything fine when playing through media player etc

Are there special codecs I need or something?

Ive had the same problem recently, i can't seem to hear anything on other video sites i.e Google & Youtube.

Do you have the volume turned up?

Quite an obvious thing to ask but I don't know what else it would be

It seemed to work after installing quicktime & realtime alternative, and flash.

Like I said - I can hear clearly with media player so its not a volume or mute setting unless youtube has one of its own that I cant see

check the speaker icon hasnt got a line through it on the youtube player

Nope - I can adjust the audio slider but still cant hear anything

A friend had this problem.
He'd plugged the speakers in the wrong hole on the soundcard.
Mediaplayer/Windows/Games worked fine, but Youtube/Myspace would not.
He moved the jack to another socket and fixed the problem.
Hope that sorts you out, if not :confused:

Nope it didn't work. Im getting a new Sound Card over Christmas so hopefully that will resolve it.

YUP - found it yesterday when trying to install new headphones - turns out one of my jacks is bust
