Been using the Xonar DG for a while now, and I must say I'm quite impressed with the little card - despite it causing constant lock-ups in games - and all has been well and good using the audio out to go through to my Z323's and then my DR150s have been plugged into them.

After a spat of rage earlier I thought I would try my mobo's onboard sound again just to check whether the sound card was really the cause of the lock-ups (it must be - it's the only thing that changed in my system). However I couldn't get any audio out on the onboard so thought 'nevermind, I'll just stick the DG back in and use the UNi drivers' which I hadn't done before.

Stuck the card back in, installed the UNi drivers, plugged everything back in exactly as was, and I'm stumped: no audio output.

Watching the equaliser I can see the card is processing the audio, but there is no audio coming through whatsoever. I've gone over everything I can possibly think of so wondering if anyone had any ideas of which I had forgotten (on Windows XP 32bit btw).

Checklist so far:
Windows Devices
Windows Sound for input and output
Windows "Mixer" so nothing is muted
DG Audio Center Analog Out
DG Audio Center "Mixer"
Taskbar Mixer
Cables are plugged correctly iirc, mic in the end plug, speakers in the second last

Really stumped and it's got to the stage that it's really starting to tick me off.

Help please

Just reverted back to the 5.12.8.1793 driver available from ASUS's website, and I've got audio back. The problem is that this will surely start causing the lock-ups in-game again...

Disable the GX, I have no idea why Asus made it on as default as it's just a huge pain in the ass. You generally shouldn't need it enabled, it's only there as an emulation for EAX which is for legacy games' audio, and the only game I've found to need it was Gothic 3...

@Auraomega - pretty certain I've always had GX off because I know it can cause problems (known before I even had the card).

@King Damager - thanks for the link, but it doesn't really confirm anything I didn't already know/try.

@Marsman - The only games I seem to be getting lock-ups in are BC2, MOH and MW2. Occasionally happens on EVE as well, but that's very rare. Other games (CS:S, 1.6, BF2) all seem fine...
