No Backlight on Laptop

Hi all,

I have a Sony SVE1513M1EW laptop for which the screen is not backlighting (I can see the display extremely dimly). I've changed the screen and same result; I've changed the LCD able and same result. I was looking for the inverter but cannot find one anywhere (usually it's a little separate PCB but there doesn't seem to be one). Does anybody have any suggestions?

The inverter will be there somewhere, they are usually fitted along the screen panel along the bottom.

That is an LED backlit screen so there will be no separate inverter, probably a fuse on the mainboard preventing the backlight getting power.

One of my friends had the same problem and it was as suggested an issue on the main board something to do with a capacitor.

He found if he kept pressing the button button for screen control it sort of charged it up but can still be un predictable
