after upgrading to win 11 I've noticed i don't have bit locker any more. what's the best way to lock a drive.

preferably free or cheap.

it doesn't have to bee super securer just a way to keep little people off work files.

the PC as one user, i messed about with multiple users in the past and it sucks so thats not an option.
i just have a 500gb HDD and a USB drive I'd like to lock

device encryption?

doesn't help. the option is not on the PC.

Device encryption is supported by the majority of Windows 11 PCs, or to put it another way, any device that supports Modern Standby is supported by device encryption. If your Windows 11 Home PC doesn’t support Device Encryption that means your PC does not have the required hardware requirements
in the Privacy and Security section i dont have the device encryption option

How does bitlocker stop a couple of kids deleting stuff?

Set up account passwords. Then they can’t log in. If they can’t log in, they can’t delete stuff.

Or am I missing something?

then how do they use the pc? how do they play games..
bitlocker lets you password a drive and usb stick
