No post just beeps

Howdy doodley doo hows it going?
I bought a new c2d system (from ocuk) installed everything (specs below)
Now i fired her up & get a beep code error, 1 long 3 short (after 20-30 seconds) then followed by a single beep.
I've looked on the ami bios site and it says A fault has been detected in memory above 64KB, then another short beep = DRAM refresh failure
Is this ram compatible with my mobo or is it knackered or am i missing something?

Thanks for your replys. :(

Try one stick in each memory lot to see if you can get it to post. If it does, then do the same for the second stick. If you can post and boot then try the two sticks in varying slots to see if you can post and boot. If that doesn't work then the memory may well be incompatible. Best thing to do, i think is look and the C2D bundles on OCuk to see what memory the have with the boards. Assuming they tried the combinations first.

Just looked and you cpu ram and mobo are the final bundle, so try the various memory slots one stick at a time. If still no joy then may be a dud memory.

I have now tryed the memory in different slots one at a time, then i tryed both sticks in different memory slot still get the same beep codes & the monitor doesn't turn on just stays in stand by mode, no POST at all.
Could it be the memory or the mobo controller?
I have no other friends with ddr2 ram i could test it out with either. :(
Really getting on my nipples now as i only have one case & have to swap everything around each time.
Anymore suggestions or will i have to RMA the ram.
Got a killer system here & i cant use it, its very frustrating.

Well i phoned tech support today & they said to send both ram & motherboard back :(
Just a last question, if the motherboard is "b0rked" would OcUK check a new one before they sent it out to me?

Ask them if they do...

I'd think not though - its fairly much assumed new stock should work. It would take them a long time to do business if they checked all new items before despatch.

[edit] Welcome to the forums BTW [\edit]

Thanks for the welcome. :)
I wouldn't expect them to check every mobo they send out, its just that i don't fancy spending another £18.50 on royal mail special delivery (which is what i paid today, what a rip off) if i get another borked mobo (Please god NOOOO).
I spent enough on the pc itself.
I suppose i'm just getting paranoid after the problems i had with the last one.
:o

RMA'ed the mobo (cost me tenquid) got a refund, got cheaper mobo, same problem :) Making them (competitor) pick it up via courier now. hoorah!

Yep - be aware that this may not be a mobo issue. You have a whole load of devices attached there. Its possible a PSU fault could be causing your woes.

The PSU *should* be fine its a Hiper Type-R 580watt with a combined 38 amps on the dual 12V rails only 3 months old.
Using it now & my current system is fine, no spikes, using Abit EQ as a guide to power consumption.
& when i tested the new system i did the normal procedure of disconnecting all non-essential componants to see if it was a PSU problem.
Oh a thunder storm is going on outside with fork lightening better turn off the pc before the PSU DOES blow up lol
OcUK recieved the mobo/ram today so i should know soon.

Well the BIOS beep error turned out to be a faulty graphics card, i sent it off yesterday & they received it today.
& by 3.30pm this afternoon they shipped me a new graphics cards.
I'd just like to say thank you to OcUK for your swift RMA service & to the support guy i spoke to on friday.
