Hi

So. Just built a rig for my son. 5900x with a Asus b450 mobo

When I instal windows. It's does everything fine. But then once it's gets into windows and I'm about to start installing drivers and what not, it's randomly ***** down, when it boots back up I get the error message.

So I go into bios. Boot from the drive I just installed Windows on, it's the same error.

Again I reboot, mash f8 and boot from the windows dongle and instal windows again. Just to be met with the same thing.

I've tried 2 SSD's and I've done a fresh copy of Windows on the dongle too.

Any ideas?

Temps are fine and all other hardware was working before upgrading the mobo and CPU

Try pressing delete and change the boot order in the BIOS, F8 might only change the boot order for one boot process.

Where are you getting Windows from?

sorry, missed your post before. from microsoft media creation tool or whatere its name.

Might be worth changing the motherboard battery, it might not be keeping your boot settings.
Agree that it's probably the battery at this point. Is the SSD/PSU etc trustworthy?

battery wouldnt explaing the random reset and then it not finding window :/

the bios setting will save no problems, but ill try another battery anyway.

the first ssd was old. so i swapped it for a scandisk ssd which has, had light us. same probem, ruffly the same point.

ive got another ssd and ill swap out the ram too. its a very odd problem for sure

trying the 3rd drive now. its really burning my brain now.

i can get it to detect that it has windows installed. but it says it need to repair. when i do that it works for a short time then randomly turns its self off again and wont boot back up again.

is there another way to make a windows install? im thinking that its corrupt or something
