I think Microsoft is trying to take over my computer!
Problems started today at work - new job, new proxy settings on the laptop to access the internet. No problem.
I come home and think all I'll need to do is open Firefox, and untick the custom proxy settings again - but no! Firefox auto detected the proxy settings were wrong, and I got a Windows (7) is trying to fix the problem. This resulted in Firefox crashing.
I've gone into the settings and disabled the windows "auto problem fix" feature, but now I just get a "Firefox has stopped working" dialog box. It's the same if I load Firefox itself, try in safe mode, or even open the profile manager. Any of these things will open, but as soon as I mouseover the dialog box, it crashes instantly.
I've put a help thread up on the mozilla forums, but suddenly, they all seem to be down.... it's lucky I'm not a conspiracy theorist!!
In a fit of hate for IE, I've gone and downloaded Google Chrome - and EXACTLY the same issue is occuring - on boot up, I get an insta-crash, and "Google Chrome is not working" error box...
Any ideas?!
