I found this great video on how practical effects are now used to support the implementation of CGI into shots. It was a surprise to me how much of the practical effect is replaced by cgi in some of these shots.
It does seem that this is the best way to use CGI and practical effects in films going forward. You achieve better results from the actors and the VFX artists. Though they need to work on this no CGI marketing they are using.
I know people tend have strong opinions on CGI vs practical effects.
So I’m curious, how does this make people feel?
Is there anyone who is strongly liked practical effects who are now rethinking scenes they once thought was all practical?
